A pleasure to introduce myself, my name is
Jessica González
I am a 26 year old Venezuelan girl and currently work with Avellanas Surf School mainly as the official photographer of the school.
In my country, Venezuela, from a very young age I noticed that I had a great passion for photography so at the age of 15 I obtained my first canon camera and there began my training as a photographer, my main motivations being nature and landscaping photography. Even though I grew up in the city of Caracas I always dreamed of one day moving to the beach, and it wasn’t until I was 18 that I tried surfing for the first time that I decided that really was that lifestyle what I wanted for myself. So I set myself a goal, to finish my degree in Tourism Business Administration and move to Costa Rica.
So in 2020 I made the most radical change of my life, I took my bags and my surfboard and I came to Costa Rica, especially Guanacaste, at first with the idea of living in Tamarindo Beach, but before settling there I met Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra, two years have passed and I have not left here how much I loved, this place caught me completely, in a good way clearly.
Needless to say, since I arrived I met the guys from Avellanas Surf School they gave me all their support and friendship, giving me work as the photographer of the school, capturing the best moments of the clients in their surfing lessons, and also Mauricio Ortega, the founder of the school, has helped me improve my surfing in an incredible way.
Costa Rica is a country full of beautiful landscapes, the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen, very friendly local people and waves with amazing conditions for surfers of all levels. Photographing people at their best moments on the water is my job and one of my favorite things to do since I live in this Paradise of Guanacaste. I hope at some point to meet the people who are reading this and together with the Avellanas Surf School Team, create unique and unparalleled moments and memories on your trip to Playa Avellanas.
